Nelson Henderson said that, ³the true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.² Sometimes in our lives we harvest what others have planted. In other seasons, we plant so others may have something to harvest in years to come. In the church it is the same. We benefit from the men and women who have gone before us but who have shaped our church into what it is today. Our building, our history, our mission were planted many years ago yet they still keep us grounded. And so we strive to do the same for those who will come after us. We work today to preserve the faith, to extend the hospitality, to expand the mission in order that The Georgetown Presbyterian Church might be a place of shade and refuge for years to come. Please join us is honouring our past traditions, supporting our current mission, and investing in our future vitality.
