Frequently Asked Questions - Planned Giving Web Page:
The planned giving web page is a link that leads the visitor to your church’s planned giving web content at www.PresbyterianEndowment.org.
Why lead away from the church website?
By providing a link away from the church’s website, we are able to manage the content, updating information when important details change. This is a normal practice for planned giving websites. By doing this we are able to integrate the reference and referral tools of your denominational Foundations (Presbyterian Foundation and Texas Presbyterian Foundation). That is important, because they actually implement many of these gifts.
Customizing the church’s look?
Your donor may never know that they have left the church’s website. Your church has the option to customize your planned giving page with your own look and design. There is a $45 design and setup cost for the creation of this custom design.
What is the Content?
The sample planned giving webpage (under our Membership tab at www.PresbyterianEndowment.org) is the default template. This is intentionally designed to be the standard for most churches. The 9 gift types displayed have been chosen as the most frequently referenced types of planned gifts for a church. The layout and content has been designed to be understood by a church’s typical congregation member.
Can my church change or remove certain gift types?:
The default settings may not suite every church. For example, a certain gift type may not be acceptable by church policy, or larger churches may have stewardship staffs that need to be the primary point of contact. Any church can easily edit their content (or ask us to do it): they can remove a certain gift type, change the gift description to reflect their policy accurately or add their own recommendation for “Next Steps”.
What are the steps to link in?
Become a Subscription Member through our Membership page at www.PresbyterianEndowment.org. After becoming a member, your church will have its own membership page. At the bottom of the membership page, you can quickly set up a planned giving page under “Edit Church Info”. On the webform you can enter:
- Church name and address
- Pastor’s Message (displayed on the welcome page)
- Calculator: you’re preference on which denominational Foundation you would prefer your visitors to be referred (Presbyterian Foundation or Texas Presbyterian Foundation)
- Gift Type customization (ONLY if the default gift types do not meet your needs)
In order for your planned giving web site to match your church’s design and theme, at the very bottom of the page, click “purchase custom planned giving theme for your church”. For $45, our web designer will construct your church’s design. It may appear daunting, but we are happy to walk you through the process.
Does PresbyterianEndowment.org supply Gift Calculators or professional planned giving staff?
We do not provide the gift calculators or professional consultations through our product. Rather we refer the viewer to the denomination’s gift calculators and professionals. Your church’s resource for the actual planned gift tools is the Presbyterian Foundation or the Texas Presbyterian Foundation. They provide the gift calculators, individual gift advice as well as charitable gift proposals. Our product provides your church a marketing tool to get your members/donors referred to these professional gift organizations or referred back to your church for simpler gifts.
Cost - Is this cost reasonable?:
Objectively? Of course that is your decision. However, note that other non-profits have found it important to have planned giving readily available on their websites.
Relatively? Please compare our cost with those of other consulting organizations who provide planned giving websites. The lowest cost programs are generally multiples higher. We consciously chose the dramatically lower pricing in order to accomplish more mission in more churches.
